Event Details

We'll be making a ceramic palette and holder for your brushes so that the colours can remain inuse and yet separateand safe and won't roll onto your work. They'll  also be stable on a table and easy to clean. AlisonI uses these when she paints on my ceramics, mixing colours and when using different colours. In addition you will be able to personalise your work with plant impressions on the reverse of the palette and on the brush holder. Maybe you might want to model something so that it is uniquely yours. The palette itself will need something such as a stone to roll and make the depression to hold your paint (perhaps you have something at home that is perfect for the job? Alsion will have something if you have nothing of your own. Bring clothes that you don’t mind getting muddy or an apron. All materials and tools provided. Your work will be dried and fired and thenglazed (white for the palette) and fired. Alison will let you know about when to collect - Usually within 2 weeks. No experience required. You'll create a unique and useful gift for the artist in your life.

Alison is a local Potter with a studio ‘The Chicken Run Studio’ in her back garden, up TannersLane, a stone’s throw from the Peace Oak where she has an allotment. Alison’s work is inspired by nature and her travels and she loves sharing her enthusiasm for clay. Making Functional table ware as well as sculpturing garden features animals and birds. She works in buff stoneware, white stoneware and porcelain clay. Also she has fun with locally dug clay. She regularly teaches individuals to master the wheel and gets a real enjoyment as their confidence and skill level develops. Alison also runs experience sessions for up to 3 people at a time who will experience the wheel or handbuild unique creations with her guidance.
