You will be able to make your own mug and in the making, understand the process of joining clay with slip. In addition you will be able to personalise it with leaf or plant impressions, taking inspiration from the Peace Oak field or an etched design of your choice. Bring clothes that you don’t mind getting muddy or an apron. All materials and tools provided. Your work will be dried and fired and then glazed and fired. Alison will let you know about when to collect - Usually within 2 weeks. No experience required- just a love of playing with MUD!
Alison is a local Potter with a studio ‘The Chicken Run Studio’ in her back garden, up TannersLane, a stone’s throw from the Peace Oak where she has an allotment. Alison’s work is inspired by nature and her travels and she loves sharing her enthusiasm for clay. Making Functional table ware as well as sculpturing garden features animals and birds. She works in buff stoneware, white stoneware and porcelain clay. Also she has fun with locally dug clay. She regularly teaches individuals to master the wheel and gets a real enjoyment as their confidence and skill level develops. Alison also runs experience sessions for up to 3 people at a time who will experience the wheel or handbuild unique creations with her guidance.
