Event Details
In the Second Peace Oak workshop, Alison will guide you to make a hand-built impressed leaf platter in stoneware clay. Using pairs of real leaves from the Peace Oak field (or bringing your own) you will be able to make a single large platter with the amount of clay provided, or perhaps a series of smaller dishes. 2 leaves of the same size will provide a surface impression and also one on the reverse. Alison will take the completed work to be dried carefully, fired twice and glazed. – The completed platters/dishes will be ready for collection 1- 2 weeks later ) They will be functional ware that is: food safe, hold water and be frost proof. ( they will also be oven proof if you choose not to add the effect of glass as well as glaze.)
