Sign up for a day of hedge laying at the Peace Oak Community Orchard under the expert guidance of conversation professional Toby Swift. Learn how to prepare the hedgerow for laying, how to cut the main stem of the hedgerow shrubs, how to lay the hedge using the technique of pleaching and then secure with stakes and binders. Using billhooks and bow saws we'll create a tidy hedge of great value to wildlife and keep alive a traditional countryside skill.
